Under the odisha kalia New scheme, landless beneficiaries are offered several livelihood opportunities like poultry, fishery, mushroom cultivation and bee-keeping, and each beneficiary must choose the activity they wish to pursue.As many as 30,40,038 small, marginal, landless farmers and share croppers have benefited from Odisha government’s flagship Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (Kalia) scheme.
Small, marginal and landless farmers were given Rs 5,000 through their bank accounts. The state government has distributed about Rs 1,300 crore among the 30,40,038 farmers under the Kalia scheme,The beneficiary farmers will be provided Rs 10,000 each per annum for two crops (Rs 5,000 for Kharif and Rs 5,000 for rabi crop.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday distributed the second phase of financial assistance to over 14 lakh small and marginal beneficiaries at a farmers meeting in Bargarh distric.As many as 30.4 lakh farmers have been enrolled in the scheme across the State so far.
The Odisha government has agreed to implement the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN), deciding to share the first list of beneficiaries under its own farm-intervention programme for the Centre’s cash-transfer scheme.
According to a tweet by CM’s office, CM Naveen Patnaik raised the neglect of landless farmers, sharecroppers and agricultural labourers in central schemes, unlike in Odisha’s #KALIA which covers all farmers. He said 16 lakh farmers benefited from Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) scheme and 10 lakh more .
